Jim Chaston
President & CEO
Jim founded Chaston Associates in 1983 after serving as a National Bank Examiner, bringing more than four decades of experience advising banks and credit unions on commercial lending and credit risk. He specializes in loan policy development, regulatory preparedness, risk management, and strategic guidance that helps financial institutions strengthen underwriting and portfolio quality.
Katherine Felpel
Senior Vice president
Katherine has more than 25 years of commercial banking experience with Sovereign Bank, Anglo Irish Bank, and Northern Bank & Trust, serving in lending, portfolio administration, and credit management roles. She specializes in commercial real estate, construction and C&I lending, credit analysis, and portfolio administration.
Scott Chaston
Executive Vice president
Scott oversees the daily operations of Chaston Associates while leading engagements for banks and credit unions of all sizes. He specializes in portfolio analytics, stress testing, ACL validation, data-driven risk assessment, and helping financial institutions strengthen strategic credit risk management.
Debra Minor

Deb brings more than 30 years of banking experience, including serving as Credit Manager for a Massachusetts community bank before joining Chaston Associates. She specializes in loan policy evaluation, credit administration, commercial loan review, and helping institutions strengthen operational and underwriting practices.
Amy Lindsay

Amy brings more than 30 years of commercial banking experience, including senior credit leadership roles at Santander Bank, Citizens Bank, and Bank of America. She specializes in commercial credit, portfolio risk management, credit administration, and providing practical guidance grounded in decades of lending experience.
Shelley Botelho

Shelley joined Chaston with over 20 years of banking and internal audit experience, including leadership roles overseeing audits for banks and credit unions. She specializes in commercial loan review, internal audit, credit risk, regulatory compliance, and evaluating the effectiveness of credit administration practices.
